Damage inflicted to the Russian Embassy in London as a result of 16/17 August attack

In the night 16/17 August 2012 the consular section of the Russian Embassy in London was attacked by a mob chanting slogans against the Syrian government and throwing stones towards the building. Several windows were broken, there has been a significant damage to the house. Fortunately none of the Embassy staff were injured.

Holocaust Remembrance Day marked in London

On 27 January 2015 a ceremony at the Soviet War Memorial near the Imperial War Museum marked the International Holocaust Remembrance Day – 70th anniversary of liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by the Red Army. On participation of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Veniamin Kaganov in the Education World Forum

On January 18-20, the Ministerial Education World Forum-2015 was held in London. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Professor Veniamin Kaganov, took part in the EWF. Various issues of accelerating the quality of teaching as well as balanced use of modern technologies in the educational process were discussed at the EWF.

Ushakov Medal presented to six British veterans of the Arctic Convoys

On 1-5 January 2015 Third Secretary of the Russian Embassy Vitaly Zubkov presented the Ushakov Medal to six British veterans of the Arctic Convoys – Mr Eric BAGLEE, Mr John Albert George PEARL, Mr Dennis Foxwell BROWN, M Frank SWIFT, Mr James MARSH and Mr James Ernest HEFFORD, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 10 March 2014 for their personal courage and bravery displayed during the service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII.

On Jan 4 was turned on the test-mode of the scientific equipment of the satellite Resource- P №2, which was delivered to the target orbit in the complex orbital fleet with the satellite Resource-P №1

Ushakov Medal presented to British veterans of the Arctic Convoys

On 27 December 2014 First Secretary of the Russian Embassy Sergey Gushchin presented the Ushakov Medal to Mr Charles Frederick Holness BEM, who was awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 10 March 2014 for their personal courage and bravery displayed during the service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII.

Ushakov Medals presented to British veterans of the Arctic Convoys

On 27 December at a ceremony held at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth, Naval Attaché of the Russian Federation Capt. Oleg Kornienko presented Ushakov Medals to 38 British veterans, who were awarded this military honour by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 10 March 2014 for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII. The ceremony was held in the presence of a delegation of Russian veterans.

On 23 December Third Secretary of the Russian Embassy Sergey Fedichkin visited South Wales to personally present the Ushakov Medal to 13 British veterans of the Arctic Convoys (names are enclosed), who were awarded this military honour for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII.

On 19 December at a ceremony in Exeter Counsellor of the Russian Embassy Sergey Nalobin presented Ushakov Medals to 66 British veterans, who were awarded this military honour for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII.
