Visit of the Delegation of the State Duma

On 26–29 November 2012 the delegation of the Russian State Duma headed by Vice-Speaker Vladimir Vasyliev and comprising of Chairman of the Constitutional Committee Vladimir Pligin, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Alexey Pushkov and First Deputy Chair of the Committee on Housing E.Nikolaeva visited London at the invitation of the Conservative Party. During the visit the Russian parliamentarians met Minister for Europe David Liddington MP, Deputy Speakers of the House of Commons Nigel Evans MP and Lindsay Hoyle MP, Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee of the House of Commons Sir Malcolm Rifkind MP, PPS to Minister of State for Employment Harriet Baldwin MP and other British MPs. Comprehensive and frank exchanges of views on topical issues of the international agenda as well as substantial discussion of the ways to further enhance of Russo-British inter-parliamentary dialogue took place.

24.04.2015 - Ushakov Medals presented to 62 British veterans of the Arctic Convoys in Oxford

On 23 April at a ceremony in Oxford Minister-Counsellor Alexander Kramarenko presented Ushakov Medals, as well as commemorative medals “70 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945” to 62 Britons, who were awarded these honours for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII. Participants of the ceremony, which took place at Oxford Town Hall, were warmly welcomed by Lord Mayor of Oxford Councillor Mohammed Abbasi and Chairman of Oxfordshire County Council Councillor Anne Purse.

12.04.2015 - 54-th Anniversary of Human Space Flight: 8 Facts you didn’t know about Yuri Gagarin

12 April was declared as the International Day of Human Space Flight by the UN General Assembly resolution. The first man in outer space – Russian Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Gagarin entered history on 12 April, 1961 when the spacecraft "Vostok-1" with the Soviet cosmonaut on board was launched from the Baikonur space centre. There are some unknown facts about the legend of space exploration.


10.04.2015 - Banner of Victory visits ISS

On 8 April 2015 a solemn ceremony dedicated to the transfer of Victory Banner to the cosmonauts of the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Yuri Gagarin was held. It was part of celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
