Ushakov Medal presented to the Arctic Convoys Veterans

On 12 January Attaché of the Embassy Oleg Shor presented the Ushakov medals to the Arctic Convoys veterans Mr William Henry WOOLARD, Mr Owen Charles WRIGHT, Mr Linsell Walter CARNET, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for their personal courage and bravery displayed in WWII.

Consular Section diplomats meet Russian community members

On 22 December the diplomats of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in London met with representatives of Russian community associations of Britain and answered their questions on consular matters (passports, citizenship, legal aid, consular registration etc.).

British Arctic Convoys veterans from York and Newcasle upon Tynes receive Ushakov medals

On 19-20 December British veterans from York and Newcasle upon Tynes were presented the Ushakov medals for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII by Attaché of the Russian Embassy Mr Vadim Retyunskiy: Mr Robert Sunderland (the medal was presented to his daughter), Mr Raymond Braithwaite, Mr Ronald Syson, Mr Harry Watson (the medal was presented to his daughter), Mr Lucas Hodgson, Mr Henry Thomas (the medal was presented to his son), Mr Henry Thirlaway, Mr William Hedgecock, Mr Robert McFerlene and Mr William Roberts.

Digital barbecue at the Russian Embassy

On 10 December 2015 the Embassy hosted its fifth "Digital barbecue" - an event for top British bloggers, social media experts, Diplomatic Club members, diplomats and journalists. Moderated by Jimmy Leach, the panelists Michael Binyon, Afshin Rattansi, Jon Laurence and Mark Flanagan discussed the topics "Mainstream media vs Alternative world views" and "From Fleet Street to Tweet Street. Has news gone social?".

Meeting of Mr Andrey Pritsepov with Chairman of Albert Bartlett

On 7 December 2015 the Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh Mr Andrey Pritsepov visited the agricultural complex of Albert Bartlett company and met with its owner Mr Ronnie Bartlett, with whom he discussed the prospects of economic investment cooperation between Russia and Scotland.

Moscow Exchange Forum held in London

On 8th December 2015 the Annual Business Forum on Russia supported by the Moscow Exchange took place in London. It gathered around 400 representatives from global banks (including Sberbank, VTB, Vnesheconombank, BNY Mellon, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, UBS, Barсlays), investment and pension funds, international financial companies, London Stock Exchange, relevant ministries and agencies, the Russian Trade Mission and Embassy.

On 5-6 December British veterans from from Derbyshire, Northwich and Stockport were presented the Ushakov medals for their personal courage and bravery displayed during their service in the Arctic Convoys in WWII by Attaché of the Russian Embassy Mr Vadim Retyunskiy: Mr Jack Ernest Goddard, Mr Frank Brown (the medal was presented to his son Mr John Brown) and Mr Gerard Henniker (the medal was presented to his son Mr Henniker, not pictured).
