Ushakov Medal presented to the Arctic Convoys Veterans at the Russian Embassy

On 15 September Attaché of the Embassy Oleg Shor presented the Ushakov medals to the Arctic Convoys veterans Mr Sydney Harold HOLMEWOOD and Mr Ronald HOYLE, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for their personal courage and bravery displayed in WWII.

Ushakov Medal presented to British veteran of the Arctic Convoys in Ipswich

On 14 September Attaché of the Russian Embassy Mrs Elizaveta Vokorina, Attaché of the Russian Embassy, Mr Oleg Shor and Assistant Naval Attaché Commander Dmitry Sharapov presented Ushakov Medals to 25 British veterans of the Arctic Convoys at a ceremony in Ipswich. The event was hosted by Chairman of the County Council Cllr Jane Storey. Lieutenant of Suffolk Clare, Countess of Euston, the Mayour of Ipswich and chairman of Suffolk District Councils were presented at the ceremony. Speaking on behalf of the Russian Government, Mrs Elizaveta Vokorina thanked the veterans for their invaluable contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany.

New Russian school opens at Slough

On 13 September the Russian educational centre "Tsarskoye Selo" opened in Slough (London area). The students receive classes on Russian language and literature, learn about Russia's history and culture. Representatives of the Embassy and Federal Agency for international cooperation Rossotrudnichestvo attended the "first bell" opening event.

Allied Submariners remembered in Dundee

On 12 September 2015 Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh Andrey Pritsepov took part at the annual Remembrance Service and Wreath-laying ceremony at the Dundee International Submarine Memorial.

On 9 September Attaché of the Embassy Oleg Shor presented the Ushakov medals to the Arctic Convoys veterans Mr. William Frank Lawrence ROBSON and Mr. Stanley Thomas WALL, who were awarded this military honour by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for their personal courage and bravery displayed in WWII.

Presentation of Ushakov Medal to the Veteran of the Arctic Convoys Mr Hugh Young

On 3 September 2015 in the course of the ceremony, which took place in Kilmarnock the Ushakov Medal, awarded for bravery, was presented to the Veteran of the Arctic Convoys Mr Hugh Young by the Russian Consul General in Edinburgh Mr Andrey Pritsepov.

Presentation of Ushakov Medal to the Veteran of the Arctic Convoys Mr William Keating

On 3 September 2015 The Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh Mr Andrey Pritsepov presented the veteran of the Arctic Convoys Mr William Keating with the Uhshakov Medal for his personal courage and valour shown during the World War II while participating in the Arctic Convoys. The ceremony took place in Glasgow.
