26.10.2011 - UN General Assembly Resolution 65/41. Developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security

The traditional Russian draft of the UN General Assembly resolution “Developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security” is regularly supported by the international community. The resolution urges to consider existing and potential threats in the area of information security, determine the main notions, and assess the feasibility of developing corresponding international principles.


26.10.2011 - International code of conduct for information security

On September 12, 2011 the Permanent representatives of Russia, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to the United Nations jointly sent a letter to the UN Secretary General asking to circulate the Draft International Code of Conduct for Information Security as an official document of the 66th UN General Assembly session.

12.09.2011 - Dmitry Medvedev held talks at the Kremlin with British Prime Minister David Cameron

Mr Medvedev and Mr Cameron signed a number of documents following their talks, including a declaration on a knowledge-based partnership for modernisation between the two countries. The two leaders also adopted a joint statement on cultural cooperation. Mr Cameron is in Russia on an official visit at Dmitry Medvedev’s invitation.

20.07.2011 - Russia, UK army chiefs hold talks in Moscow

Russia and Britain are planning to expand significantly their bilateral military cooperation after a long period of strained relations between the two militaries, chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. Nikolai Makarov said on 19 July.


30.06.2011 - On a working visit to London of the delegation of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

27-30 June a joint delegation of the Committee on Financial Markets and Monetary Circulation and the Commission on Interaction with the Chamber of Accounts of Russia of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation headed by senator Viktor Pichugov visited London. Delegates held a number of working meetings in the House of Lords, the House of Commons, Financial Services Authority, Central Securities Depository (CREST-Euroclear) and London Stock Exchange.
