SIMOLIN IVAN MATVEEVICH

Ambassador to the United Kingdom - 1779-1784.

Years of life 1720-1800.

In 1743 he became a translator in the Board of foreign affairs and then served as a secretary in the Russian missions in Copenhagen and Vienna. In 1758-1761 – the resident, 1762-1772 – the minister plenipotentiary at the Imperial Diet in Regensburg.

In 1772 he became the minister plenipotentiary to Denmark, in 1774 he occupied a similar post in Sweden, in 1779 – in Great Britain. On this post considered extremely important at that time he stayed till 1784.

In 1784 he became the Privy councilor to France.

Died in 1800 in Vienna.
